The area between the Paran Fault in the north and the Notza Ridge in the south constitutes a region where the groundwater of the major regional aquifers of the Judea and Kurnub Groups flows through a wide corridor, draining from the expanses of the southwestern Neg-ev toward the Arava Valley. With the aim of developing new water wells in this area, a study was conducted that included reprocessing of old seismic lines, analysis of data from exist-ing wells (including velocity surveys), and, ultimately, a new interpretation. The updated data enables a much-improved correlation between the well information and the seismic data, thus allowing for accurate depth mapping of the key layers essential for water re-source exploitation in the region. This updated information makes it possible to optimally locate water wells to serve the regional water system. Future work may include geological cross-sections as an additional stage in the planning of water wells along this corridor.
