Geological mapping rally in the Negev

At the initiative of Yoav Avni, the Geological Survey and the Israeli Geological Society, a plan was formulated to bring together teams of researchers and students from research institutions in Israel engaged in earth and environmental sciences for experiential competition in the field of field geology. The program was successfully implemented in March 2020 and received excellent responses. This year, the rally will be held in March 2021, in the Negev region, in accordance with the corona restrictions that will take place at the time of departure.

May 3-5, 2021 | Yeruham

The conference will be held at the "Mindest" complex in Yeruham in the format of two days of lecture and poster sessions and a Tuesday of tours, workshops and activities for the community. The lectures will be given in Hebrew or English, depending on the definition of the session. The poster seats will be compatible with the lecture seats and will also include generic areas. The poster sessions will take place in the form of a sequence of short lectures (2-3 minutes), before the posters are displayed in positions.

We, the members of the Board of Directors of the Geological Society, request a change in the bylaws of the Israeli Geological Society for the adequate representation of women and men as candidates for the Peretz Gerder Prize. Attach a file that includes an explanation of the application and the proposal for amendment.

We would like to hold a special plenary meeting in Zum for a discussion and vote on the proposal on Tuesday, January 19 at 12:00 After the meeting, we will issue a call for proposals for all the Geological Society Awards for 2021.
